Why a Bordeaux Beauty Moment is the Perfect Antidote to Dry January

“Anyone can wear it,” says makeup artist Andrea Tiller of the season’s most refreshing neutral, Bordeaux. “It looks amazing on people with green or blue eyes because it brings out their eye colour.” Tiller, who counts Amy Schumer, Ashley Tisdale, and Olivia Palermo as clients, gravitates towards a saturated palette, “to help the makeup looks I create become more defined and seamless.” Her beauty ethos focuses on the individual and starts with their vibe and energy. “Anything goes! It’s about expressing yourself to feel the most beautiful version of you.” And for Tiller, vibrant colours with distinction that work in tandem are optimal to create a modern, monochromatic effect.

“It’s rich and luxe,” says Tiller, who used the Victoria Beckham Beauty Smoky Eye Brick in Tweed, the Satin Kajal Liner in Bordeaux, and the Bitten Lip Tint in Bisou to achieve the multidimensional take on a one-note look. “Anyone can wear anything as long as it’s put together the right way,” explains Tiller. “There are no rules.”

Below, Tiller shares how to recreate the look:

1.

Smoky Eye Brick in Tweed

Apply a light wash of the Caramel shade all over eye socket with a fluffy brush. Also apply this same color under the eye for definition.

2.

Satin Kajal Liner in Bordeaux

Line eyes—top, bottom and waterline—with Satin Kajal Liner in Bordeaux (add a wing if you like) and add your favourite mascara.

3.

Bitten Lip Tint in Bisou

For a monocromatic, chic look apply Bitten Lip Tint (I recommend 1-2 layers).
