Backstage Beauty at Victoria Beckham Spring Summer 2020

“This season I wanted to show more makeup on the runway,” said Victoria. “The beauty look was created to complement the lightness, easiness, and freedom of the collection.” Executing Victoria’s vision was makeup artist Pat McGrath who used her deft touch and the Smoky Eye Bricks. “We’ve gone with something a little bit modern using blue [Royal] and burgundy [Tweed] out of Victoria’s new collection,” says McGrath who created an architectural silhouette. “[It’s got] a little bit of a socket shape. A bit of a graphic line but slightly smudged. So the girls look really beautiful with just a hint of colour.”

And for those wanting to replicate the look, Sarah Creal breaks it down. “[Pat] applied shades of the Smoky Eye Bricks using a fine, wet brush to trace the arc just above the socket [for] an elegant, editorial, but actually an easy and modern way to wear colour,” says Sarah. Highlighting the effect of the dewy skin was Guido Palau’s effortlessly elegant chignons for a polished, lo-fi but sophisticated finish.
