V Things—Kusama’s Back, Manet Moves West, and Penn Does Paris

As the year comes to a close, some of the world’s leading museums and galleries are hosting some stellar exhibitions. Yayoi Kusama returns to New York at Chelsea’s David Zwirner Gallery with her highly instagrammable Infinity Mirrored Room, part of her exhibition Every Day I Pray For Love. Beyond the photo-op, Kusama’s new paintings are on display as a cool foil to her immersive experience. Those heading to Miami Art Basel in a few weeks would benefit from checking out Teresita Fernández’s exhibit, Elemental, at the Pérez Art Museum Miami which highlights works from the artist spanning over two decades.

Similarly in Los Angeles, the Getty Museum, impressionist artist Édouard Manet’s later works are on display highlighting his use of pastels while documenting everyday life. In Paris, Galerie Thaddaeus Ropac celebrates the work of photographer Irving Penn with a collection of his still life images. But in London, it’s about bringing worlds together at The Great Animal Orchestra. Put on by the Fondation Cartier and presented by United Visual Artists, the exhibition explores the sounds, sights, and beauty of nature. Below, a roundup of all the happenings to keep you in the know and remember to share your discoveries using the hashtag #worldofVB and you may see it appear in an upcoming edition.
