VB Designs the Season's Impossibly Effortless Boot

VB loves a good heel. The higher, the better. And for autumn, she’s designed the ideal boot that effortlessly pairs with slick separates and feminine dresses. The Jasmin boot debuted on VB’s autumn-winter 2019 runway and marries the streamlined allure of a stiletto with the elongating elegance of a to-the-knee boot. VB sported the style in New York, London, and Paris, and the Jasmin has gained steam amongst fashion cognoscenti for grounding looks with a sophisticated, yet sexy appeal.

Vogue Australia fashion director and Wardrobe.NYC co-founder Christine Centenera offset her minimal trench dress with the leopard version this past March in Paris. Christine put a modern and directional spin on the 1940s femme fatale style by amping up the effect with the animal motif. Céline tortoiseshell sunglasses punctuated the look with retro glamour and picked up on the tones of her boots with polish.

However, at VB’s after-show dinner at Harry’s Bar, Maya Jama infused the style with a sultry spin. Maya broke up her one-note ensemble using the red Jasmin to cement her look with a bold pop. Her sheer top provided a delicate foil to her leather skirt while the boots elevated with effortless grace.

But Erika Boldrin kept things decidedly feminine at VB’s spring-summer 2020 show when she paired the black Jasmin with an oversized menswear top and tweed skirt. The menswear-inspired mashup was a wonderful study in a play of colour and texture with the boots providing a subdued finish.
