VB Goes Inside the GQ Men of the Year Awards

This past Tuesday, the Tate Modern’s Turbine Hall received a dose of extra wattage thanks to some dashing gents. GQ hosted its annual Men of the Year Awards inside the minimal space bringing out an all-star lineup including Sir Ian McKellen (legend), Kim Jones (designer of the year), and Taran Egerton (actor of the year). However, the evening’s top honour went to VB’s husband David who received the Editor’s Award.

For the red carpet moment, VB suited up in a slickly tailored double-breasted suit from her pre-spring summer 2020 collection punctuated by earrings from Jessica McCormack and vintage Cartier bracelets from S.J. Phillips.

Inside, after crowd-pleasing speeches from Phoebe Waller-Bridge (who presented her Fleabag co-star Andrew “Hot Priest” Scott with the Hugo Boss standout performance award) and Nicole Kidman (who received the actress of the year award), the mood of the night was decidedly festive. Dressed in VB and joining the celebrations were Jacqui Ritchie, Kristin Olafsdottir, Tana Ramsay, and Rosemary Ferguson.

And while the evening had lots of laughs—take a peek at the video VB made with some cameos from Jones, Elton John, and Anna Wintour — it also proved to be a celebration of distinctive, individual style. Below, VB shares snaps from the evening from the red carpet pregame to inside the ceremony.
